AMS Pictures’ documentary "Stop the Presses: The American Newspaper in Peril" received buzz and
acclaim at the 2008 AFI Dallas International Film Festival premiere. A co-production with filmmakers
Mark Birnbaum and Manny Mendoza, the film screened to sold-out audiences on April 2 at the Magnolia Theater
and April 3 and 5 at the Angelika Theater. With over 1600 entries, the film was one of only 210
accepted and only a select few to be included in the Target Ten Documentary Feature Competition.

AFI Dallas recently announced that AMS Pictures’ documentary "Stop the Presses: The American Newspaper in Peril" will make its world premiere at this year’s festival on April 2nd. The film is up for a $25,000 prize as part of the Target Ten Documentary Feature Competition.

Boots” has been selected to screen in the 8th Annual Santa Fe Film Festival, taking place
from November 28 to December 2 in Santa Fe, New Mexico! Producer Laura Neitzel is excited to return

On October 19, “Portrait of Abuse”
had its premiere screening before a key audience of counselors, health care workers, law
enforcement officials, clergy, and others working on the front lines of the battle against domestic
violence. Their overwhelmingly positive response reinforces the value that “Portrait of
Abuse” offers in educating the public about this hidden epidemic.
“Shock” was
named a finalist in the Psychiatry category in 2007 the International Health and Medical Media
Awards, known as the FREDDIE awards.
Now in its 33rd year, the Freddie Awards are the pre-eminent international
competition for health and medical media.
On July 31,
“Bodacious Boots” screened as the opening night film at the
20th Annual Dallas Video Festival. The film, screened before a packed house in high definition, was
greeted by an enthusiastic audience. Artistic director Bart Weiss praised it as the perfect
kick-off for a Festival that celebrates independent Texas film.
